What is WordPress?
WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS) made in 2003
by Mike Little and Mike Mullenweg in the hopes of democratize publishing by
creating a website that creates and host other website without the knowledge of
any coding experience for the individual for free. Since, WordPress is an
opensource and it is free for the users, it is easy manipulate and modify the system
software as they please and thus, creating a vast sea of plugins architecture and
template systems on the website giving the customers of WordPress the freedom to
create they own art piece.

The codebase language that WordPress is built on is mostly PHP and other
programming languages such as JavaScript, CSS and HTML.

PHP name is derived from Personal Home Page originally but as the language is
developed in 1994 the acronym has converted to Hypertext Preprocessor;
PHP is highly comparable alternative for the JavaScript programming language.
PHP is an open-source and the language is
used as server-side scripting, Command-line and Writing desktop applications.
Server-side scripting is the power house of PHP which means the platform is
independent (can be used on different Operating systems such as Mac OS, Linux
and Windows) Additionally, it works with all the popular web servers, making it
simple and inexpensive to deploy on various platforms and systems and it is a great
beginner friendly language to learn and to perform. Command-line scripting is
used in PHP as a great for simple text processing by scripts made using cron (job
scheduler used in Linux) and Task Scheduler (job scheduler used in Windows).
Writing desktop applications is not widely used for PHP since it is not the best
programming languages to create desktop applications but it is extremely advanced
in web development comparing to other competitors.
